KASS Seniors

Practical assistance when additional help is useful

A qualified technician may attend to review digital device safety and explain clear next steps.

Patient, respectful one-to-one guidance

When additional support may be helpful

Some technology questions are easier to address when a senior and technician can look at the device together. KASS may arrange a face-to-face appointment where appropriate and where services are available.

Support may include

Device review

Reviewing computers, tablets and smartphones and discussing how they are currently used.

Settings guidance

Checking relevant device, application, privacy and accessibility settings.

Account protection

Helping a senior understand recommended account security improvements.

Confidence building

Explaining next steps clearly and allowing time to practise and ask questions.

Our support principles

Patience
Dignity
Clear explanations
No judgment

KASS support should help the senior remain involved in each decision. Information is explained rather than rushed, and the senior is encouraged to ask questions.

Service availability: Face-to-face assistance is not guaranteed. Availability may depend on location, circumstances, technician capacity and available resources.

Preparing for an appointment

  • Have the relevant device and charger available
  • Write down the main questions you want answered
  • Do not provide passwords or authentication codes in advance
  • Keep private documents and unrelated personal information out of view
  • Ask for clarification whenever a step is unclear
